Well my Vivettes I hope every one of you had a great weekend. Sadly the weekend had to come to an end and Monday is once again upon us. So I figured what better way to wash away the Monday Blues than to gossip a little. Okay it’s not really gossip because every thing I’m about to say is the truth and nothing but the truth. 😉
This past weekend was the Bat-n-Rouge All Star Show, a fund raiser for the CLGSA’s Bat n Rouge Fund Raiser held during Pride Weekend, and it was one hell of a show. The show featured some of Ohio’s best performers and none of them failed to deliver. Sadly the teams that make up the CLGSA did. The proceeds from the Bat n Rouge Fund Raiser help keeps the CLGSA’s cost low and this show helps the Fund Raiser take place. So you would think the teams would come out and support in force. Well once again they didn’t. It’s a shame the teams can’t come out and support the entertainers who support their league. With that being said the turn out was decent and the performers had fun and enjoyed themselves.
Vivian had one of her best if not BEST performance of her career. It was a performance that I honestly was smiling from ear to ear through out its entirety. Afterwards I told Vivian that was the kind of performance that makes all the money spent, all the frustration, all the time and energy WORTH IT!!!!
Vivian wore won of the new costumes we picked up a couple of weeks ago from Patrick and she looked AMAZING. I can’t tell you how many people’s eyes popped out of their head when they saw her walking around Axis. Then it was time for Vivian to take the stage and she owned every inch of that stage for the entire performance. Vivian performed to Annie Lennox’s “Walking on Broken Glass” and I can’t even express how proud of her I was. Vivian KILLED IT. I honestly couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She was perfection on the stage. I may be a little biased here but its okay I’m allowed to be.
After Vivian’s performance we ran over to The Barracks for Mr. Bedd’s (another drag husband) birthday party. It’s always good to see the Bedds and while we there we ran into a few other friends. All in all it was a good start to the weekend.
Then yours truly bowled in the COMIC bowling tournament on Saturday and Sunday. It was my first bowling tournament and I didn’t do half bad. Funny story here as well, as I was waiting to start bowling on Saturday morning I found one of Vivian’s fake nails stuck to my shirt. Now it wasn’t just stuck to my shirt it was stuck to the inside of my shirt. I have no idea how it got there but I had a good chuckle about it. I texted Vivian a picture of what I found and she laughed.
Sunday night we ended the weekend at Union for dinner and Show Tunes with the always amazing Nina West and very funny Freesia Balls. While there we ran in to a few of Vivian’s CGMC Brothers. All who are very excited that Vivian will be making another appearance in the Motown Concert keep reading the diary for details on that. It was a fun way to end a good weekend.
