Good Bye 2010

Well folks 2010 is coming to an end and it’s time for Mr Von B to reveiw his year and thank some people. I have to be honest it is a little difficult for me to review the year and be 100 % positive, but I will do my best. I am more of the glass is half empty rather than half full type of guy. I know it drives Vivian nuts.

So 2010 started and my dad was gone. My dad’s passing affected me for almost the entire year. I kept thinking that it was all just a bad dream and sooner or later I would wake up and he would be there. I was wrong about that and on the first anniversay of his death, 10/28/10, it hit me. On the way home from Volleyball  I finally realized he was truly gone. I walked in the door bawling and just cried in Vivian’s arms. It was like reliving that day againg from a year ago. As much as I hated that feeling I have to say I needed it. There was no way for me to move on with my life until I accepted my dad’s passing.

Dad – I miss you every day and your little grand babies are INCREDIBLE!!

Vivian- Thank you Thank you Thank you for being there for me during that most difficult time.

So January contained Vivian’s first performance during Miss Havana and I have to say it was a blast! A huge thank you to Bobo DeMontreal and Mr. DeMontreal (Harold Coles) for all the help the day of. Viv could not have done it with out you. I also have to give big thanks to Fresh Meat Softball and CGMC. You guys bought Vivian’s way into the finals and you are always there to support my favorite girl.

February was a very memorable month for me. My little Jedi (twin niece and nephew), Mia Rose and JJ, were born. I love being an uncle and they make me want to be a better person. There is nothing I won’t do for them. They are my pride and joy and yes I know they are not my kids but they are the closest I will every come to it. I love going home and playing with them, feeding them, taking care of them. They are the cutest little things and I am already spoiling them rotten.

March was a relatively quite month. It was a month of planning for Bearvillities and Softball Season.

April brought us Vivian’s second performance, Bearvillites. Here I want to thank Tim Shrewsbery and Bill Mast for allowing Vivian the opportunity to be a part of Bearvillites. It was a huge boost to Viv’s confidence. Mr Von B had a little part in Bearvillites and that was fun.

May began softball season. This season was not as fun for me due to my board position but I love my team and I love playing. Meat you are the best group of friends anyone can ask for. We don’t always see eye to eye, but what family does?

June is Gay Pride month and is always fun. This year was even more exciting because Vivian was asked to perform in Dragapolooza at Axis night club. The planning and rehearsals for that were incredible. We were asked to do a production number and I really think we delivered. Viv not only had two other queens performing with her, Bobo DeMontreal and Anna Mation, but Mini Viv was born and she had 4 dancing boys. Thank you to everyone that helped make that such an fun experience.

July saw Vivian perform again in a night of 100 Drag Queens. We revived the Dragapolooza number and Vivian was asked to perform in the CGMC Ho Sho #. The event was a huge success and raised over $8000 for the Gay World Series that was coming to Columbus Ohio in August. Yours truly helped with the planning of this event.

August was the month Vivian went under the knife for her foot that she injured in October of the year before. Yes she waited almost a year to have it taken care of. Let me tell you Mr. Von B is not a good nurse and I’m sure Vivian will agree. I did the best I could but DAMN Viv is demanding….LMAO. August was also the month that Fresh Meat Softball won it all in the D Division of the CLGSA, first place for the regular season and first place in the tournament. GO MEAT!!!!

September was a month of healing and planning. Viv was still recovering from her surgery and we had to plan her numbers for the Ho Sho the following month. Now that I think about it September was exhausting.

October was the Ho Sho. No need to really expand on that because if you are reading the diary regularly which you should be 😉 you know all about it.

November and December revolved around the Christmas Show and once again you should know all about that because you are reading my diary on a regular basis. If not you better start…LOL.

That is my positive review of 2010. Was 2010 all happy? HELL NO!!!! Vivian and I had some low moments, but really I have to agree with Viv life is what you make of it so why dwell on the negative? Trust me I know all to much about that. So my resolution for 2011 is to focus on the positive and make life the best it can be.

I hope you all had a fantastic 2010 and an even better 2011.

Happy New Year!!!!
